redshirt_ensign 11 Posted June 27, 2013 Ubuntu will be the easiest due to the gcc libs required. There is details setup instructions on wiki. Before you put in all the work though, are you sure you can run a Life server under Linux? You know there is no CallExtension support for Linux right? Like, no external (hive) db support. Doesn't Life have all kind of db related stuff in it?
fabiommc 10 Posted June 27, 2013 I recommended ubuntu server , or debian is the same thing almost. If you find any problem following the wiki you can ask here for help .
Overlord 0 Posted June 28, 2013 Linux AA2 server never use more than 2 GB RAM, but as usual the more the better. If you got lot of RAM (12.16 GB) you can utilize RAMDISK for larger files (e.g. Islands). Lot faster reading from RAM than disk. For CPU you should go for 2-4 core min. 3 GHz. I run servers on 64 bit Debian Server, 2x dual Xeon 3 GHz, 8 GB RAM, no problems at all.
