Multiplayer Servers aren't loading correctly

When I try joining a server it will just go to the map, then after a few seconds say that I have been kicked off the game, I have refreshed and tried other servers but this problem is persisting everywhere I go.

Things that can cause this

1) You are trying to join servers that are different versions than your client

2) You are trying to join servers while running 3rd party content (e.g addons) that the server doesnt allow

3) Your firewall isnt correctly configured and you don't haven the necessary ports open

4) You have a poor unstable connection

The fault does not lie with the servers (If every servers does this too you)

How could i check number 3, and know if it is not how it should be?

I've played the game for about a week, on and off. I went in multiplayer today and cannot get into any server. It stalls at the island image and then 'kicked' message. I don't think it's the router as it worked yesterday. But if it is, how to check?

Think it's a packet-loss issue. Rarely happens joining a low ping server, below 100ms.

Try a steam cache verification, it usually takes care of this problem for our group. :)
