Missing ATOC & PPAA settings in GUI

Recommended Posts

I am running ARMA II OA version 1.62.105785 on a Windows 8 64-bit desktop, with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570.

Here is a screenshot from the main menu of my version and what extras I have running: http://i.imgur.com/AMTiVJ7.jpg

I do not have the ATOC and PPAA settings in my advanced video options GUI, though I do have them in the Arma2OA.cfg file (I have included the text of this file at the bottom of the post). If I edit them via the file, they do change what things look like in-game (as far as I can tell), but this is a workaround.

Here is what my video options menu looks like: 376n21l.jpg

I have had ARMA installed for a few months, and have went through multiple beta patches through that time. I have never, at any point, had the PPAA/ATOC options in my GUI. In fact, I did not even know they were supposed to be there until a friend mentioned it to me recently.

One thing I did try was to create a new ARMA player profile from scratch, but this did not fix the issue.

Please let me know if you need any more information. I hope that this problem can be resolved. Thanks!

EDIT: Additionally, I launch ARMA via the ArmA II Launcher program. These are the launch parameters that it applies:

"-mod=D:\Games\Bohemia Interactive;Expansion;ca;Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;@acex_sm" "-name=Whispy" -nosplash -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=8192

And here is the text of my ARMA2OA.cfg file:

language="English";
adapter=-1;

Resolution_Bpp=32;
Resolution_W=1920;

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

Yea sometimes I lose the ability to choose above normal in Video memory and texture detail. I figured out that it was catalyst deciding what arma needs. So check your gpu software to see if they have a special thingy for arma 2.

The NVIDIA control panel allows me to override/apply some settings that are not available in ARMA itself, but it does not have any options for ATOC or PPAA.

Can you try and only use the beta shortcut, in your root folder.

If I do that, I get two errors:

no entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgingameui/mptable.shadow'

and then:

error compiling pixel shader psspecularalpha:0

and the game does not run.

If you read the original post fully, you'd see that I do have the 1.62 patch installed. The version I am running is 1.62.105785

EDIT: After trying to reinstall 1.62 just in case, it says that I am actually on 1.59...This is strange, as you can see from the screenshot at the top of the OP, it says I am on 1.62 in-game. However, I will update to 1.60 and then 1.62 incrementally and see if my problem is fixed.

Well, seems that I didn't actually have the 1.62 patch installed (despite it telling me I did). Installing it gave me the GUI options. Thanks for the advice, Sakai!

Screenshot shows 1.62.105785, which is a beta patch. That doesn't mean your ArmA2OA is updated to the official 1.62 version which is 1.62.95248.

You probably skipped the patches to 1.62 and started running beta patches, ultimately missing some updated content including the GUI elements.

Yup, you're right. I edited the post above yours to reflect that I fixed the issue and that this was the problem. You must have been posting at the same time that I was editing haha. Thanks!

And this is what I wanted to write later on as well, possibly used six updater expansion/beta which makes it look like it is 1.62 just because it uses beta patch even with 1.62 patch not being installed.

I know that because I did that before...
