.236 1 Posted July 24, 2002 Well, the title says it all. I've done searches in this forum, and no go. Even OFPEC doesnt have anything on it. So those who have made weapons mods, or who can help, please explain how the weapon sight (remember these are NOT the ones displayed in the briefing, these are the things you look through after pressing INS) pics can be changed. Thx

Then contact those addon makers for further advice. But yeah it would be nice if someone wrote a tutorial on that. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
.236 1 Posted July 25, 2002 Yo Miles Yup, way ahead of you. I cracked open Flipper's latest M4A1 pack, and here's waht I found (skip down to the end for the lowdown): Textures - .jpg Configs - .cpp Models - p3d PAC - Level of detail files I assume - XXX_lod.pac And then just some wav files (dont yall think the M4 sounds kinda pissy now?) and menu/briefing weapon pics. Soooooo......:( No go. Maybe its tied up in the P3d model or something..eeek!
Major Fubar 0 Posted July 26, 2002 I dePBO'd an SPAS12 addon I have with customer sights, and found the follwing file in there: optika_spas12.p3d. Maybe they are p3ds... Also, on a related topic, does anyone know where I can find a list of ingame sight names and ingame model names if I want to make an addon that uses them instead of original ones? (I am working on a PPSh41, and while i wait to get the model done, I want to make a beta version with the AK47S model and the Bizon iron sights). Thanks. Major Fubar 0 Posted July 29, 2002 *bump* Come on, I find it hard to believe none of you addon gurus know the answer to this...
Guest Posted July 29, 2002 Very simple, you need O2 to edit them. The files that can be edited are MLOD format (OFP demo) and called optika_xxx.p3d . But, as I said you can't do it without Oxygen. If you just want to change the reticle, it is much easier. It is saved in some .paa file, if I remember correctly. That is a normal texture which you can edit without O2. Major Fubar 0 Posted July 29, 2002 OK...but how about the list of existing reticle (and model) names for creating a new addon using these? Where would I find it, I've searched around, but no luck...
Guest Posted July 29, 2002 Download the HK bonus pack (Lost Brothers). DePBO it and look at the texture called "Optik5.paa". That is the reticle for the OCIW. Unfortunately there is no mention of it in the config.cpp, so from there, your guess is as good as mine. It is possible that it is a texture used in the optika p3d file or something to that effect.
