The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted November 13, 2001 Its seems there are a few problems with people ugrading to vr1.30. I have vr1.29 at present. Will I need to go back to vr1.20 before installing the latest patch?
Cantata 0 Posted November 13, 2001 So far my only problem has been with multiplayer. My friends and I have it installed on three machines with store-bought CDs. I am usually the server, and after the upgrade to 1.30, they would get kicked out of the game at random intervals. Sometimes it happened to both of them, other times only one of them would get booted. There were a couple of hard lock-ups as well. Here is a problem I noted since 1.26: When you place an "H" for a helicopter to land on and then place a waypoint on the "H" so the Helo will fly there and attempt to land, sometimes it just decides to land about 50 yards away instead of on the landing pad. The mission I'm working on has some soldiers waiting for a BlackHawk to land and pick them up, and occasionally the BlackHawk lands outside the compound walls instead of on the "H" inside the compound walls. Kind of frustrating since the soldier's waypoint leads them to the landing pad. They have to run back out of the compound and over to the helo where-ever it decided to land before they can be picked up. Everything still works otherwise, as far as trigers and waypoints associated with this event, but it ruins the realism factor to some extent. Otherwise, I find 1.30 to work quite well. The AI seems to behave properly, and I'm not getting killed by enemies who obviously can't see me. The missions I'm building continue to work properly for the most part, so I am pretty happy over all. I would strongly consider uninstalling Flashpoint and reinstalling after a reboot, then applying the 1.30 patch. That should help you to avoid any conflicts with older patches and add-ons. Good luck! The Jub-Jub Bird 1 Posted November 14, 2001 Thankyou Cantata for your reply. I will be clean reinstalling in that case.
