Cloney 0 Posted July 21, 2002 I'd go for a cheap strat or an Ibanez. Depending on how much money you have. I started out with a Mustang and still play it.
cybrid 0 Posted July 21, 2002 There that foot pedal thing that goes with the guitar to change the sound type right? How many different sounds are available?
Cloney 0 Posted July 21, 2002 Erm... If its a distortion pedal I think there are presets that you can set up (treble, overdrive, etc. etc.). You really don't need one if you are just learning. Its easier to learn the basic chords and such.
BoonieRat 0 Posted July 21, 2002 Theres more different kinds of pedal than you have feet my friend! ... Try growing your fingernails long and squeezing your balls to strenghten your fingers up ...

Anyway I recommend Fender's "Strat Pack" which is a 10 or 15w amp with a Fender Squire which is basically an overseas made Strat. They aren't top of the line, but they are pretty cheap. You get everything you need to play: guitar, amp, cord, strings, tuner, gig bag, and a video. It runs for about $280 I think. Later when you've gotten better and you want a better sound you can always replace the pickups and get a bigger amp.
cybrid 0 Posted July 22, 2002 Actually I started growing the mullet before I had any intention of playing guitar.
