Arma 3 - Settings that i use with fraps.

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Just made a video showing off all the settings and features on the Alpha. To note that my settings are based on the ability to record on Fraps with out taking a massive FPS hit. I average about 40 fps with fraps on and 60+ with it off. Watch i guess if your looking to do a bit of recording also. I will be making videos soon to show off the quality im getting on those settings. Im also recording at 120fps on half size.

Pc Specs

Intel® Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.8GHz

Memory: 8192MB RAM

GTX 560 TI

RES; 1680x1050

This game is definitely more than i expected. Its better at everything even in alpha, more optimized than arma 2. well done Bohemia Interactive!!! Price point is awesome also :P

Could you pop a few screenies up like the ones below. I use msi-afterburner for recording only a -20fps or so hit, still high but A2 I get a –30/35 fps hit recording.:(

The top vid, seems only low quality settings when you go into ‘Preview’ from editor. What settings are those your using there, are the same as the set-up ones prior ?

If yes, it seems something is not kicking off right when you go in-game, low textures etc taking time to load up.. does your frame rate stutter there a little while the game cranks up ?

I don't use v-sync, always 'disabled'.

Not sure in the vid if you were unsure of these; Head bob, concerns in game head bob by your character, motion of walking via screen movement, less steadies the screen, more-well you know..

Deadzone is the ability, if you like, of moving the top portion of your body without the bottom half (layman’s terms), i.e. walking forward whilst pointing/aiming your weapon to the left or right, as in real human behaviour, good effect, can feel more realistic for aiming etc, 'freeview' for the weapon, I call it, takes a little getting used to.;)

I spend all my time in the Editor making missions for our group, the whole series is about the 'editor' imo, anything is possible mission wise, whole world in there, especially when the mod/addon makers get going..

Your right, your flying is, well.:p..

Thanks for the vids.

Make sure you're recording to a different hard drive than what ArmA is on.
