TrueCoppa 1 Posted February 25, 2013 I was playing ARMA 2 when I noticed that something was different, large white patches appeared on the ground underneath me. I have been playing ARMA 2 for quite a while on this machine and the problem popped up yesterday. I updated my drivers to see if that would fix it, it didn't, and I can't think of any hardware changes I made recently which could cause the problem My specs are as follows: NVIDA GT640m 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card Intel i7 3615QM 3.1GHz CPU 8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM Here is an example: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=129500678 It only appears on the ground underneath and around my player, everything else looks fine. I have BAF, PMC and ACR and have tried both the beta patch and the stable patch. Also if anyone could help with another problem I'm having (to save making two threads) then that would be great too - My player always appears really low res, like I'm using the lite versions of the DLC, until I zoom in by holding the right mouse button. It goes back to the low res version when I stop zooming in. It happens at random, sometimes the player will be detailed and sometimes it will be low res. I've tried everything but can't find a solution. My texture settings are on high, so they shouldn't look like a blurry mess.
chrisb 196 Posted February 26, 2013 Lowering the VD might help with the patches. But to be honest it sounds like your system is struggling to run the game. I’m not sure regards your card or system but it may help playing around with the in-game settings a little or giving more info regards your settings, both in-game and game config settings.. List your settings here, may be able to help regards those a little. :)

chrisb 196 Posted February 26, 2013 Texture and model quality is on high. And what do you mean by VD? I know turning AA off in-game should help (PPAA=0). Object detail in-game to ‘Normal’ might also help. VD is View Distance, should be o.k. with 2000, more when flying perhaps, but on the ground 2000 or less is fine. Regards your other settings, they look o.k. Other than the two GPU: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000 on mine GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=4 on mine Did you set that or was it set for you by the game, may be worth trying different setting there just to see, not sure, but it won’t harm as long as you keep a copy of the original settings before trying.. Can't see anything else, settings wise.. Just thought, try the latest Beta, if your not doing that already..

The white patches still appear and my character's detail randomly switches in and out of high and extremely low detail. AI characters stay like they should be, but my player keeps messing up. Are you running any mod/addons or playing the game in Vanilla, no mods. If you are running mods try it without any, there may be a conflict there somewhere between mod/addons. If your not using any, then can’t think of anything else, fingers crossed for someone else that might know more..
