New forum

I dont really have the skill to make a new one nor do I know of a site that would host it but im sure it could be done. Anyway if a strictly ofp forum site were made would you ever use it? Id like to help if anyone wants to do it and I'd like to see the rules kept as 1. No racism, bigotry, or sexism 2. No porn and 3. No posting nasty images ie rotten.com stuff.

Anyway if people say they would use a new forum then we should do it, I can make websites with frontpage but forums are too advanced for me so someone else would have to do that. Thats about as much I can say here and dont take any offense mods just a new idea .

LOL certainly not, I may be a cranky old arsehole at times but I wouldn't ban someone for suggesting the idea of a new forum, nor would I close the thread, I was saying bye bye to all those I hope and pray and beg take up the idea so it gets a bit quieter around here

How would it be different from here? aside from the fact that no-one would know it was there?

I guess the main difference would be what you could say there and what you cant here. And then smaller things like I wouldnt want a 100k limit on pics.

(At the risk of punishment) Haven't many of you moderators kinda bruoght it upon yourselfs? I've been on this forum since May and I see many more threads closed and people banned than I ever have.

I have to say that I wouldnt...because I think too many boards/forums/mailing lists about the same thing tend to dilute the community.

I agree, this is a good comunity because people know how to get here (its the official forum).

Sometimes moderators are to severe but that's a hell of alot better than people abusing the forum.

You could say by deciding to be mods we brought it upon ourselves, but no, people who get banned bring it upon themselves, we set a few simple rules/guidelines, if people can't follow them that's their problem

Why is everyone whining about the forum. I've been gone for a week and I come back and every thread is about moderator this and ban that. Really, what do you people want? A 3rd Grade level forum where everything is HaXor2 saying how l33t their skills are? I think this one of the best forums on the net, mainly b/c it is policed quite well. People who have a problem with the mods are people that don't add to the community. Simple really.

I agree, its just when some mods get a little heavy handed that some people get peeved. But as I said earlier this is much better than having poorly policed forums.

Well, I haven't seen them be 'heavy handed' at all. This a private forum and the rules are clearly laid out. If someone jumps in and acts like an idiot right away, well that's their problem because they didn't lurk for a bit to see what is going on. All and all I don't think there is anything wrong with anything in this forum.

I'm going to close down this thread. It is not because of the new forum idea but because of the fact that it is becoming a good/bad mod discussion. If you have something bad to say about us, send us a PM. If you have something good to say about us, send us a PM... or flowers

As for how the forums were before as opposed to now, I suggest that you go back a bit in forum history and look six months back.
