Arma 2 OA Registry files corrupt.

Recommended Posts

I was recently "hacked" by someone and they stole my cd key (don't worry i have more) and they somehow corrupt my registry files for ArmA 2 OA and im not able to make new strings, edit the KEY so i can change the cd key or do anything and its really annoying, iv'e reinstalled the game and tried deleting the registry file for the game so i could get fresh reg files, but its not letting me and keeps showing an error: Cannot edit: error writing new value contents. does anyone know how to fix this any feed back would be appreciated.

EDIT: i can modify/delete the registry files for normal ArmA 2 and other files in the registry.

P.S: the hacker some how changed they KEY to a regisrtry_SZ instead of the defult registry_Binary

Did you run a hack for ArmA 2 that stole your key and "played" with the permissions of the registry keys?

Because this hack might still be there, monitoring and preventing your changes.

I doubt someone managed to access your registry without you running an executable.

Well i let my friend use my computer while i was out and when i came back he said something about trying to hack and screwing something up i think he might have run a hack,i started my computer in safe mode and i still can't edit my ArmA 2 OA reg files. If you know anyway to fix this please let me know.

Reinstall the program.

If your registry is corrupt, try using ccleaner's registry cleaning tool.

Closing.
