3D Editor

I've been wandering around into the 3d editor and read almost everything there is to be read in the forums but I still can't change the altitude on my objects, only shift click works (so alt and ctrl do nothing)

Any help ? I need to get a static machine gun on top of a Bunker Tower.

Also, I've had this problem for a long time ago, is there a way to block tab scrolling on menus ? It's a pain to do Ctrl+Alt+Del everytime I need to go to my desktop..

I did, people sometimes showed up that they can't use control or alt (no effect) but no solution to it, i've created another profile that uses defaults keys but still nothing (im left handed)
