need help with steam version Combined Arms

Hi guys

I searched the forum and web and can't find a solution for this case, and that thread about steam version A2/OA/CO is abandoned as i see.

I previously own one copy of steam version ArmA2, and bought OA from retail lately. As you can see the DayZ mod is so fun that I want to play it. So I bought a copy of Combined Arms with ACR DLC from steam days ago.

Now the problem is, I can't launch CA. There is no such right click option that says "launch Combined Arms" in steam as some others said what they had done. And the ACR dlc will pops up with "MISSING STRING" notification.

what should i do now? i'm totally confused with this.

yesterday i tried to install my retail version OA and it just automatically selected to the steam version ArmA2 folder. i didn't notice that until just now. i will give it a try tonight when i get home

Steam thread isn't abandoned, just no one is posting on it currently.

But install OA into the Arma2 directory, and launch from the Arma2oa.exe it should run as CO.

i tried it again

first i install ArmA2 on steam

and install my retail OA to that ArmA2 folder in steam folder

update OA to 1.62

copy that DLCSetup folder from steam OA to the ArmA2 folder

run the retail OA excutable and ACR will be now installed and everything seems to be working fine

but if i load the new maps come with the ACR dlc, there will be only terrain without any trees, rocks, buildings.

finally i get it work, but it really confuses me.

in the steam OA folder there is a batch file named _runA2CO, i excuted it and now run the steam OA it will directly lead to CO and install ACR dlc.

but the problem is, the ACR maps are still buggy. no buildings, no trees, no anything else but only terrain when i get into the two new maps.

please help
