Madp 1 Posted November 13, 2012 hey guys i'm new to arma and the forums, some guys have been talking about joining the world of arma2, so i thought before spending out on a tower and the games etc i would try the free version first, so downloaded it from the official site and installed it, went to run arma2 free, and got 10 little squares appear with ticks in them then a black screen for 2 seconds then an error message saying ERROR: shader model 2 is not supported anymore, can anyone shed some light on to why this is happening or offer a solution please also sorry if this post is in the wrong place, but i have been searching for hours to find nothing of any use to my problem is this error appearing because of a graphics card issue?? or have i not setup something prior to running the program properly any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance cheers madp Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Guest Posted November 13, 2012 The BI tools have nothing to do with Arma 2: Free. Arma 2:Free is a game not an editing tool so I am not sure why you need to search for hours and post there....but anyway. Your GPU is to weak seeing the error messgae. Madp 1 Posted November 14, 2012 ah sorry foxhound didnt mean to post in the wrong place but didnt see a thread for arma2 free, feel free to move or delete the post, basically i want to get into arma2, i been looking at pc requirements and my rig is half way between minimal and recommended, so before going and getting a high end rig to play on i thought by trying arma2 free first before spending out on a rig and the game with expansion packs etc, installed and got the error in above post, not being to clued up on what the error message ment i came here to try and ask some people who are in the know cheers for the reply and again sorry the post is in the wrong place Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
