pd3 25 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) I've been trying to find information on how encompassing Valve's CEG protection actually is. I'm assuming Arma 2 uses CEG? As it no longer uses SecurRom? If not, then I suppose this is the end of this thread. However I recently came across some discussions regarding performance issues that AMD processor users were having interacting with Valves CEG protection, resulting in poor performance, or outright crashes. Supposedly there is a tool that temporarily fixes this by the name of "orochi CEG". Has anyone out there heard of this? I considered trying it myself, however I'm extremely reticent about the results that my virus scanner returns when checking the file. Ideally, I would like to think there is a bios fix for this, but it seems unlikely. Has anyone tried it? Is this a big scam to get people to install a trojan on one's machine? Trocal 1 Posted October 31, 2012 Hello I was searching for additional information/an update for Orochi-CEG, and I saw your post/question, and I decided to create an account. It might be a little late though. I first learned about Orochi-CEG around when Borderlands 2 came out. I had around 8 fps playing that game and I had difficulties connecting to my friends through it (though I'm not sure it fixed that part). Borderlands 2 would not run properly on even the lowest of the lowest of settings. Orochi-CEG fixed that for me and recently i tried loading up Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, which my machine also had some problems running. Now it all runs smoothly on almost highest settings in Warhammer and almost highest in Borderlands 2. I can only recommend it. As for virus/trojan? I didn't have any problems when downloading it and my anti-virus doesn't go crazy with warnings when scanning it. If you're using Norton it might be because very few people in their registry have downloaded and scanned that particular file. Steam hasn't come up with any error messages when I've used it either If you still needed help, I hope this did part of the job!
