How to Disable Panting / Breathing Hard?

Recommended Posts

I have some units that I plan to insert voices into, but I need to disable the panting and breathing hard after they run awhile.

The voicing sounds weird when they are audibly panting, but the voices coming from them do not match the heavy breathing they are doing.

Any ideas how to disable this? Thanks!

Hi Krytoss,

I believe you will have to either create an addon or script it to turn off/disable the sounds, Idk for sure, but I got to assume theirs no command that turns it off.

The file your looking for if you go the addon, or script route is in the addons folder in your Arma2 directory, the file labeled:

Sounds.pbo is the one you want.

Once you unpbo that files then this path in the folders is where the panting or breathing is located:

Arma2\AddOns\sounds\Characters\Noises\Breath

Hope that helps.

awesome thanks! I was able to find those files. There are about 40 heavy breathing files. Are you suggesting I delete the sounds from them, then re pbo the package back up for arma2?

That's never a good idea. You might somehow make a replacement config thing for it, but changing core files will just get you banned or break things.

Look at some sound mods and how they replaced sounds and try doing the same.

No! definatley not, you could break the game that way, as Kylania said look at how a sound mod does it, pm LordJarhead, or Mark3

and ask them how you can disable those sounds or replace them.
