Aguacate 0 Posted June 20, 2002 First, I'm definitly going for a bang-for-buck car. Second, I'm 6-2.
ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 20, 2002 then choose japanese..they ususally have less depreciation in value when selling back too... since you are 6-4, i think compacts like civic or corolla would still fit, but if not, might consider looking into accord or camry..those are 'mom and pop's' cars, but value wise, i think it's ok. FetishFool 0 Posted June 20, 2002 A 6'2" would never drive a Civic comfortably... I know because I'm almost 6 feet tall, and my bro-in-law is like 6'2". You'd be like the tall guy from The Simpsons driving the trabant. Have you looked into a VolksWagan Jetta? Beautiful cars.

FetishFool 0 Posted June 21, 2002 VolksWagans are great cars. The Jetta isn't very fast, but it's the most reliable car you can get other than a Mercedes, BMW or Audi. lol, they're all German. Go figure.

EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted June 22, 2002 Don't buy a new car. Since you just recently got your liscene, you WILL hit a few things. New cars are expensive, the bodies break easy, and are very expensive to fix. I recommend an old car 15+ yrs old WITH A BUMPER. that bumper will save your thousnad dollar front from damage at low speeds (parallel parking, etc) Oh ya, don't buy an old Japanese car, they are pieces of shit. Get an old American car. And they'll be cheap too. I personally recommend a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. You can find one in good condition for 2-5 grand. They are well built, powerful, fast, and sexy as hell.
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted June 22, 2002 Get a Mclaren F1. Its pretty cheap, for kings. For about 1 million dollars, that is.And having to wait, about, 2 years, tell you get it.With a speed of nearly 230MPH.With butterfly doors.Ahh a dream come true. But also, a Hyndai are prety good cars from what i hear. They got a really good warrenty to.

Go figure. <span id='postcolor'> Mercedes (lol) You base how good you think a car is by how much you like the company don't you? But BMW and Audi do make good cars, just a little overpriced though, and they will probably not outlast a Honda Civic even (the new ones, not the old shitters) which is a fraction of the price. Isn't there a reason that Honda, Toyota, and to a lesser extent Nissan, get the highest reliability ratings in the world? I'm not even a fan of .jap cars and in fact I call the people who soup them up and race them "ricers", but I never ignor facts. Surveys of thousands of peoples responces can't be wrong. cybrid 0 Posted June 22, 2002 As soon as I find my mags, I'll start shootin' out a few facts on Mercedes. And on a side note, did you all know that the new volkswagon beetle was rated lower for reliability than both ford's mustang and GM's camero//firebird (it was placed in the class of sports/sporty cars). American cars have come a long way from where they were just 10 years ago. If things presist American cars will be just as good as any .jap or euro car. timmy 0 Posted June 22, 2002 try a yugo, the suck ass, but this one i found is only 3 Gs or if youd like a nice 70s car, chevys were always the sexiest bitches on the block. Like this 1970 chevelle ss

Tracker 0 Posted June 22, 2002 if you dont like a trabant, what about an automite.. there great.. altho you have to build it 4 1/2 HP engine!.. she can do 40 MPH with a 10 HP engine.. it can do 55! but as comrade hardliner said just dont crash into anything
cybrid 0 Posted June 22, 2002 YEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAW I found my mags OK heres how the 2002 Mercedes model cars will stand up based on thousands of surveys conducted across north america, and the previous reliability history of that particular model Sports cars: Mercedes SLK gets an average score wich is typical of American cars. It's slighly behind the BMW Z3 and far behind the Mazda Miata and Honda S2000. Upscale Cars: The C-Class gets a lower end average score and is rated lower than Chrysler's 300M and Lexus IS300 and is way behind Saab's 9-3 and 9-5 and theres a pile of japaneese cars that are much higher. Luxury Cars: The S-Class is rated "below average" almost into the "way the hell lower than average" catagory with a whole shit load of cars higher than it, many of them being american (who was that that scoffed me for comparing Mercedes to American cars a while ago?) Lets Continue Coups: only 4 cars in this catagory Acura CL (way above average) Toyota Camry Solara (almost way above average) Chevrolet Monte Carlo (above average) and Mercedes-Benz CLK: so far below that it went off the charts to a -94% on a chart than only goes from -80 to 80. And Finally Mid Sized SUVs: Mercedes scores well below average with one hell of alot of companies on top of it. So as you can see Mercedes definatly does not produce the best cars in the world and in alot of cases they can't even stand up to American Standards. It amazing how many of them I see dead on the side of the road, espesially since there are so few of them around. My conclusion: I'll take a Lincoln Town Car please. ralphwiggum 6 Posted June 22, 2002 cybrid, what's your source? last year, AAA rated S class best in its class. and Consumer Reports rated E class one of the best cars a few years ago (in its class).
cybrid 0 Posted June 22, 2002 Consumer Reports is my source. But Ralph, when a new car gets a "car of the year" award or somthing like that, they don't take reliability into account, only drivability, comfort, performance, etc. Thats why the Ford Focus and GM's trucks keep winning awards like that.
