helpplease 1 Posted May 20, 2012 I'm getting this texture glitch whenever I try playing the demo. Have tried fiddling with most conceivable graphic options to no avail. Downloaded the demo as I think the game may be pushing my machine to its limits, hope this isn't the case and I can fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated. ---------- Post added at 22:44 ---------- Previous post was at 22:43 ---------- ..and the images http://i48.tinypic.com/f56cu0.jpg (350 kB)
instagoat 133 Posted May 20, 2012 My initial thought was graphics card overheating. Is it like this always, or does it occur after a while as you play?
gunso 10 Posted May 21, 2012 download furmark and do a stress test, arma 2 will push your graphic card to the limit. might as well do a stress test 1st to eliminate the heating issue. 1. Download furmark 2. Do a 15 min stress test If fail - check if the cause is overheating, dust etc. if pass 3. Drop all settings in video option to low and increase the resolution bit by bit to spot which one is causing the problem. If you're using nvidia, get the latest beta driver. Official latest driver release sucks. ATI, do some googling to see if others have the same issue.
helpplease 1 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the help. Realised I haven't cleared out the dust in my PC for about a year so did that, still occurring. Tried loading the game immediately after having the PC turned off overnight and the glitch still happens. Ran the stress test, here are the results whatever they mean: Gonna run through the resolutions now. ---------- Post added at 14:31 ---------- Previous post was at 14:18 ---------- Getting the error even at the lowest resolutions. Get it on the menu screen as well oddly. http://i46.tinypic.com/wqy22v.jpg (124 kB) Couldn't find anyone else who's had a similar problem. Will look for beta driver versions now. ---------- Post added at 15:15 ---------- Previous post was at 14:31 ---------- Problem solved Turns out there was a driver update for certain games, ARma ii needs to be added to the list. Link to update incase anyone else has issues: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst124ahotfix.aspx Thanks again for the help :). Can go out and buy the game now.
