Spliffeh 10 Posted May 14, 2012 This post is somewhat related to mods, however it appears to now happen when I try to connect to some normal, ARMA 2 OA/CO multiplayer games so I'm posting it here. I was playing DayZ fine for hours yesterday, died and the game went a bit crazy - when i respawned the UI seemed really big, bigger than my resolution (1920x1080) and some elements of it were out of the screen. I restarted ARMA and tried to join the game again, as I clicked join I got a blue screen (driver_irql_not_less_than_or_equal), restarted and tried again and the same thing happened so I reinstalled the game completely, reinstalled sixupdater and remodded, now whenever I join a game I see the player list, in the lobby etc but the game is essentially frozen, the background is completely still and everything is unclickable and I have to ctrl+alt+del it out. I thought maybe it was a driver issue, so I switched to the onboard intel gpu just to see if i could actually get past the lobby and it did (however since recent testing, this is still happening with my onboard GPU), so I now thought that I needed to reinstall my nvidia drivers, reinstalled them and its doing the same thing. I originally wrote this post yesterday, however since I have twice reinstalled ARMA2 and the expansion, completely cleaned the registry of ARMA 2 related things in between these reinstalls. Any ideas? (Also ARMA2 without CO/OA installed lets me connect just fine.) Specs: CPU: i7-3610QM RAM: 12GB DDR3 RAM GPU: GTX 670M 3GBDDR5 Thanks!
.kju 3245 Posted May 14, 2012 a) did you try to run the latest beta patch? b) did you clean your hardware from dust? c) can you upload your rpt please: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/arma.RPT
Spliffeh 10 Posted May 14, 2012 I've tried the latest beta patch, yes. The laptop itself is literally brand new - opened it about 4 days ago so I'm fairly sure that dust isn't an issue right now. I'm also 100% sure this isn't a hardware issue as I'm able to happily play games like BF3 on ultra without problems. Couldn't find an attach feature on the forum so I uploaded both my OA and normal ARMA 2 RPTs to mediafire. http://www.mediafire.com/?pcxf4ixxfu134mc Thanks for your response! .kju 3245 Posted May 14, 2012 NAT Negotiation failed (NNThink - result 3) a) do you use sixupdater to launch it? b) to me it seems you are not launching CO nor the beta c) whats your network equipment? if you have crashes, in general do this please: https://dev-heaven.net/projects/cis/wiki/CIT#How-to-report-a-crash
Spliffeh 10 Posted May 14, 2012 Tried with and without sixupdater, same thing happens. Those RPTs are a bit odd as I was trying all sorts of things there, I was originally definitely launching CO and it was happening still. My network equipment consists of built in wireless and a bigfoot killer network adapter which I use for ethernet, tried both, same problem. The weird thing is this happened after a BSOD, prior to this it had never happened after hours of play, I do have a feeling its something odd to do with my CO though, seriously tempted to just repurchase it on steam :(
.kju 3245 Posted May 14, 2012 To me it seems more like a driver or windows problem. So reinstall arma wont help I fear. Can you revert it back to the last recovery point?
Spliffeh 10 Posted May 23, 2012 To me it seems more like a driver or windows problem. So reinstall arma wont help I fear. Can you revert it back to the last recovery point? Not sure if you're still here but as you were so helpful previous i was wondering if you could continue to advise me on this issue, I have actually made huge progress in working out what it is, I took my laptop to a friend house for a LAN party and it was working perfectly, it seems to be something network related, any suggestions at all? Thank you!
.kju 3245 Posted May 23, 2012 ok good to hear. thats a start. my advice would be to borrow a router from a friend and try it at your house.
