Connecting failed.

Hi, I have been trying for several hours now to get my game to work, but nothing has worked so far. My problem is that whenever I try to connect to a online server I get the message "Connecting failed". I have used Google and asked friends about this problem. And this is what I've tried so far:

*Port forwarded: 80, 88, 2302-2306, 2074, 3074. Both TCP and UDP. I've also tried 2302-2305 UDP only.

*Enabled DMZ.

*Enabled/Disabled UPnP.

*"netsh winsock reset".

*Disabled windows and router firewall.

*Reinstalled ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operiation Arrowhead.

*Reinstalled BattlEye(and added the latest one from battleye.com/download.html).

Noteworthy:

When I try to connect to a server it says "Joining game" and I get the feeling that the game has decided immediately that it's not going to connect. My friends just gets "Waiting for host" or something like that.

I've bought these games on Steam. And when I try to verify integrity of game cache I get the message "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." no matter how many times I do it.

OS: Win7

Router: D-Link DIR-655

Connection: 30/30 Fiber

I would really appreciate some help on this guys.

It somehow works when I open port 2302 only.

I'm having a similar problem. I can't connect to any servers right now. I receive the "connecting failed" message and all server icons are red "x"'s. I assume the "x"'s mean I can't connect because I am missing something, but I haven't found any explanation yet.

Here's some background information. I have Arma2 free and Operation Arrowhead. I've patched them both to 1.11 and 1.60 respectively. I installed the Dayz mod with the install tool to 1.2. Like many other people who've recently picked up this game, I'm really excited about DayZ, but a little overwhelmed by the challenges of getting it to work. I hope I'm overlooking a simple fix!

Does anyone have any advice? I would really appreciate any help at all.

EDIT: There is still hope! Found it! Except it says its too many characters to post. What's a good way to get around this?

Upload it to a temp host like http://www.file-upload.net/ and post the link.

However this part of the logs shows that you are still on 1.59. You need to apply 1.60. :)

Ok, that's a big issue and I don't quite understand why that would be because I've run the 1.6 patch updater multiple times now. I don't understand why it would still be on 1.59.

I can confirm I just ran the updater and it said I was up to 1.6, but as soon as I logged in the right corner said 1.59. So, this could either be an issues with the patcher I downloaded or with the game itself somehow interfering, possibly.

Why version did you get - hard copy, digital, steam?

I have a digital copy of Operation Arrowhead from Green Gaming and Arma2 free from Bohemia's site, and yes I have already reinstalled once before.

It patches normally and says it's successfully installed 1.6, but when I start up the game it still says 1.59.

Are you sure you have arrowhead only once installed on your computer?

Wow! There are two version installed currently. Although the one that is up to date won't run because it says it can't access the arma2 expansion file, I believe this is due to the path which says that its basically game then double forward slash "\\" expansion\bin which of course can't be correct. The question is how do I change it from that path?

To clarify the Error message: "Cannot open file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\CapsuleGames\ARMA II - PC\\dta\bin.pbo' " pops up. I see that other people have had this issues. So, I guess the question is do I need to re-install or is there another way to change the way the game trys to boot?

Final Edit: I found a very helpful post that lays out how to edit the registries. http://forums.greenmangaming.com/topic/1816/hopefully this will help others in the future.

Several people have the bin.pbo problem with the Green Gaming version. I think their version/install is broken.

My take is to ditch that one and use your other arrowhead install.
