Zetetick 1 Posted March 21, 2012 Hi everyone, hope all is well.:) Now since I've been asking a few Q's and actually getting good answers (that WORK) I'm gonna try my luck with something that's been bugging me for AGES,again it's probly a simple fix for those with the requisite knowledge so here goes... CSLA II is right up there amongst my all time favourite OFP MODS -such a fantastic collection of well made vehicles almost unmatched imo Now I love almost everything about this MOD except one thing, and that is the IRONSIGHTS on all the standard small arms (M16/AK etc) -they make aiming/firing REALLY hard as they obscure so much (esp the M16) and mess up entirely peripheral awareness etc so I was wondering (and I hope I've chosen the right forum Area for this-I've been away for 6YRS!!) does anyone know how I might swap these hard-to-use ironsights for default ones? (or ideally DMA army pack ones) Does anyone know the method to do this? if you do please use plain language as I'm not that advanced in 'Zen in the Art of PC plumbing' (But I'm learning) This is something that's been gettin on my wick for YEARS so I'd be Well chuffed if anyone has a soloution. Thanks for taking the time guys:m: ZTK
JdB 151 Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) It's not all that easy, there are a number of steps involved that may need to be repeated (a lot) in some cases: For default BIS ones: - Open CSLA II main config (pray to god it has the cfgweapons section in it), or the relevant file (some mods use separate files for every config section, like weapons.hpp); - Replace "modelOptics=" entries with the relevant ones from the original game's config, like "modelOptics="optika_m16";" for the M16; - Save and close the file, if the config was placed in a pbo then use a pbo packing app to make a pbo out of the folder again. For custom ones: - Unpack pbo(s) that contain the ironsights of CSLA II, find out what they are named; - Rename the iron sights you want to replace them with like the originals; - Replace the CSLA ironsight files, you also need to make sure that the textures are copied with it and that the texturepaths in the model files are adjusted to account for the new situation; - Use a pbo packing app to make a pbo out of the folder(s) that you edited. If you have trouble getting the standard BIS ones to work, you might not want to mess around with option #2. Edited March 23, 2012 by JdB

JdB 151 Posted March 23, 2012 No problem. One thing I missed is that since CSLA is a big mod it uses a big config in the Bin folder rather than separate ones in all pbo files, so packing the folder isn't necessary. I did mention that in the unpacking part but not in the finalizing part of the "For default BIS ones" bit, so I edited that for future reference.
