ARMA II: combined operations Crashes when playing campaign

so i have spent an awful lot of time in AMRA II CO simply flying about in jets, and shooting goats, so idecided to give the campaign another go, but its constantly crashing, each time a little bit further into teh campaign than before. i just get a Crash to Desktop and an "ARMA II renforecements has stopped working" box. kind of annoying. im not sure what could be causing it. i have a relatively good system (the graphics card is borderline good) but everything else should work.

Do you have any mods installed? Also what are your system specs,ingame settings? More info.

nope no mods. just all the buyable addon stuff

my system specs are:

intel i7 2600k

8GB ram

GTX 560

latest nvidia drivers (yes i have seen somewhere not to use them)

latest direct X

ingame settings are:

texture detail : high

video memory : default

AA : low

terrain :normal

its the ARMA II campaign, the main one. and im currently getting exreamly pissed off with this game. constant crashes, the most useless AI since freaking operation flashpoint dragons rising (yeah, helicopters deciding to land on the only tree in the middle of a field, friendly gunners absloutely refusing to fire uppon enemies, then run screming from buring vehicles) and not to mention im completely stuck on mission 7 manhatten. i keep geting a message about doctor sova being killed, but i cant find him anywhere! im even in krastnastav when i get the message he has been killed. i was really looking forward to this game and actually being able to play it, but its jsut frustrating

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I kept getting script errors and then it would crash.

I gave up. I don't really even care about HR, it's more trouble to get running than it's worth I think.

There are great user made campaigns, maybe try those?

ok cool thanks. thats probarbly why i can bomb aboutfor hours in the editor, but cant get far in the campaign (though the crashes have been quite kind to me recently)

dude u gotta download the latest beta patch and should fix ur probleme worked for me...

but i know got an issue with "Arma 2 OA has stopped working" any ideas fellow gamers?

I get a lot of crashes in HR campaignt too, using recent betas. Already send armaOA.rtp files to Dwarden and I suggest anyone with chrashes to do the same.

Your Harvest Red campaign Manhattan mission issues are a piece of cake to solve:

Harvest Red campaign is a great campaign and there is no trouble of getting it to run without mods. It has had some heavy patching since 1.60 patch which included many data changes by the original mission designer.

Your freeze problems sounds like the ticket I created some time ago and which is assumed to be fixed in recent beta patches (released after may 2012), since I have not experienced any more with those beta patches. No modes for me either and I also have similarity to your hardware specs with same processor, but GTX 570 and 16MB RAM
