Why do I seem to have been banned from all servers?

I played a public MP game a week or so ago which seemed to get hacked (carpet bombing in the middle of a sniper deathmatch). Game got canned, and now I can't seem to connect to any MP server whatsoever - always get "you were kicked out".

Easy to say "it wasn't me", but I wouldn't even know how to go about hacking... guessing it's a case of mistaken identity, but what do I do now?

There must be anoter problem at yours - no one can ban you from all servers.

I was reading threads about blacklists - but maybe I've jumped to conclusions there as I guess they are not universally used. Anyway, any ideas on next steps?

Try give the all error messages you are getting and the entire message. Check out the chat and the RPT file.

Most likely it's either because you are missing addons required by the mission being played, or alternatively you are using addons that the server does not allow. Check the server's homepage for more information about which addons you need and which addons you are allowed to use in order to be able to play on their server. For some servers, Six Updater can actually make sure you run the game with the correct mod setup, too, saving you the trouble, though some server setups aren't Six Updater friendly.

I was getting the "Player x uses modified files" notification but then I always did; I had a look at the RPT but didn't make much sense to me.

Anyway, seem to have fixed it by running Steam's "Verify integrity of game cache" on both A2 and OA; some files got re-downloaded and all seems to work OK again.
