incarnum 1 Posted January 25, 2012 Hey, I am willing to set up a server, however I have ran into an issue. Major questions: 1. Does the server require all the game files the client has? 2. Most efficient way of getting the files over to a linux server? Any mirrors available to download them directly server-side? (transferring them using my home connection would be a gigantic disaster) I am sorry if a thread with this was already posted, I have tried to use the search function however no efficient results. Please feel free to slap me with a link to a similar thread if it exists. Thank you in advance.
Guest Posted January 25, 2012 I found this topic with lots of info for you: - Arma2 dedicated server howto 1- Yes, it requires all official game files. 2- You will have to upload them yourself, I am not familiar wether there is a mirror provided by BIS for this and its not allowed to share the game files. You can just upload the files to your server while sleeping/working/at school/doing some shopping.
incarnum 1 Posted January 26, 2012 Thank you. Unless someone has a more accurate answer in regards to the server files, you may consider the topic as solved.
