Mattius88 10 Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) I have Dell Studio 1749 Laptop i5 M430 CPU (2 Core, 4 Threads) ATI 5650M GPU 1GB DDR3 - DX11 (Driver 11.8) 4GB RAM DDR3 Spd - 1066 17" LCD 1600 x 900 Track IR4 MSFFB2 Joystick Win 7 64 Bit Home Premium SP 1 This looks great but..... Is this game going to be worth getting on this sytem or will it look terrible in order to get 25fps+? Any info or expected screen shot showing turned down options to suit my system would be most helpful..... ---------- Post added at 07:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:50 PM ---------- Anyone? zoog 18 Posted October 28, 2011 Laptops are usually not well suited for these types of games, especially the games developed by BIS with massive amounts of data streaming, CPU calculations and other things going on at the same time. They recommend a quad core btw. If you are able to play it I would say with not a very large draw distance. But I don't know for sure. Maybe wait for the demo somewhere in november? Mattius88 10 Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) Thanks for that. It is pretty good for games. However I Still Can't decide............. ---------- Post added at 08:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 PM ---------- Now if anyone can report with suggested screenshots that would help enormously Edited October 28, 2011 by Mattius88
Mattius88 10 Posted January 2, 2012 Well I took the plunge & am more than pleasantly surprised by the performance. It runs 24fps+ on med/high settings. Chuffed to bits...... (Life in this old Laptop yet!) :)
csb 0 Posted February 16, 2012 Thanks Mattius. Your system specs and results with TOK have been very helpful. I am about to update my laptop. So I can have some idea of what I will need. Med/high settings will give good enough graphics and scenery.

Fenrisulven 1 Posted February 16, 2012 My old Alienware m11x Intel Core 2 Duo worked surprisingly well in both TOH and A2OA with everything set to medium and post off. Now I have a new laptop, XPS17 i7 (3GHz), 8GB DDR3, 3GB GT555M with full 3D support and running A2OA in full HD with everything on high, post off (don't like it) and AA off (don't need it 1920x on 17"). Flawless performance, even with textures on very high. I even made a 3 sided WF mission + civ on Zarga (very CPU heavy map) and my laptop doesn't even break a sweat. csb 0 Posted February 17, 2012 My laptop is the 2nd Dell that I have owned and both were quite good for gaming. For the price they seem to have better specs than other brand laptops.
