Hey aculaud

Recommended Posts

Today I just received some posters with Royo art I ordered from this site:

http://www.closeup.de/Default_en.htm

just type royo in the search field.

The thing is, these posters are amazing quality! They have a wowen textured coating and the print raster and colour are so fine that you can see every tiny little pencil line and stroke - best poster print I've seen!

I highly recommend them if you liked Royo!

Among others I got this one, which ofcourse looks much better IRL:

I was certain you where european - guess I was wrong tounge.gif

I'd ask them about it. All the posters at closeup have the same numbers for names as on luisroyo.com, so I would guess you can find them somewhere in US too. But closeup was the site I was referred to when emailing royo's agency in spain.

I was planning to just slap them up with sticky tape, but the print is so fine I'll have to make some frames for them. wow.gif

Yeah, the books are also printed in high quality and they're not particularly expensive. Makes great coffee table books when you wanna scare conservatives out of the house biggrin.gif

Now I'm also considering to get that metal angel poster you linked.

BTW, I found an excel sheet with all the _originals_ left for sale. Unfortunately, all my favourites where not there and if I where to pay up to $2000 for a painting it should definately be one of my very top favourites... must wait till next book I guess. sad.gif Wish I could have gotten the front cover from Prohibited II as original tounge.gif

Yeah, not to be disrespectful, but i'd rather pay 15$ for a book, than 2 grand for a painting id be too scared to own (what if soemthing happened to it).

I understand what you mean. My reason to consider such, is the special magic when looking at the actual strokes and how they all have different surface texture and shinyness, and then thinking about the fact that it's the _real_ thing smile.gif A bit like a fetish I think. Or a bit like a real christmas tree compared to a plastic christmas tree biggrin.gif

But yeah, it probably also brings more worries along... Fire. Theft. Knocking it over while being drunk. Loads of hazards.

I definitely see your point though. An artists original work, especially one of that magnitude, would carry so many emotions. Its something that would be very experiential, in that, you'd really have to be in its presence to know just how majestic it is.

I got One!!!

I ate out for dinner this evening, and stopped at the university bookstore on the off chance that they may have some of his work, and there was Secrets, III Millennium, and Malefic. I didnt have the money for all three, so i got III Millennium.
