zild1221 10 Posted October 23, 2011 I am sure you guys are getting sick of people asking for help setting up a dedicated ArmA 2 server. However, all of the info is crazy scattered about and is either dated or non-definitive. I used to have a server quite some time back (Pre-OA) and for the most part had someone running it for me. Since that point, my friends and I haven't really played ArmA. (You really miss a lot of new things in the amount of time, don't you?) Anyway, I now have my own dedicated box at my store. I installed Windows Server 2008 and ArmA 2 and OA. The ports and firewall have been configured. That is IT so far. Nothing has been touched. I was hoping you guys can help me get this thing up and running. I guess I will start with my server specs. Q9550 @ Stock (Can go to 4Ghz, I had it there when it was my main system) 4GB DDR2-1066 HD4870 As for the internet connection, I am allowed 50Mb/s down and 5.5Mb/s up. We are allowed more from the ISP, but the line is used for other important things. As for what we want from the server... I am looking to run a warfare mod, most likely Warfare BE. I assume I will be getting the CO version of it from dev-heaven? I also would like to run ACE (where do I get this and how do I install? Last I tried it was pretty complicated for the client)and an FX mod of some sort. Is there anything else I need? Oh, and we are looking for something like 6v6. Not a ton of people or anything. Also, if you guys have any recommended configs for my server, I would greatly appreciate them. I was reading into a thread about connection settings in your config, but is more of an argument than it is helpful. Am I forgetting anything? Thanks in advance.
