chus 0 Posted October 1, 2011 Hy all, I wanted to ask you if you could give me some input about dedicated servers. I´m in a clan that wants to play ArmA2, and were looking for a new server hardware. Back in ArmA1 I can remember that the server executable did not support multicore or multi processor. Did this change in ArmA2? How about 64 bit support for better RAM access did BIS work on that? I do expect that the only servers OS available is still the Windows platform. How do you guy do the sizing of the server? It would be great if you could share your experiences regarding dedicated servers and ArmA2 with me. We manly will play COOP. Were about 30 people and usually we play for several ours. We used DAC in the past nevertheless usually we have quite some IA running around. Thanks in advance for your help. Some example hardware setups would be great. Hud Dorph 22 Posted October 1, 2011 Basic rule are the more Mhz on the processor the better, and there are support for multicore. Im running doomi and can with ease run 2 servers using each 2 cores. Arma are afaik 64-bit adress aware so mere than 4gb can be utilized, though i have never seen the server use that much.
