barret 0 Posted November 14, 2001 The kewlist thing would be to: add more islands, or even be able to inter connect them (through aerospace not land wise), add more than just usa and russia, more like britan, and all american and soviet(now russian) allies. Dawdler 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Interconnect Islands? The problem with OFP gameplay is that its too big, not too small. Besides, would you like to run the game at 1 FPS??? Everything will be made, just if BIS release the tools.
barret 0 Posted November 14, 2001 if not inter conect them, make the land masses larger, i hate spending hours over water tryin to find land
Dawdler 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Larger? LARGER?! My god, what have you been drinking... Have you even played the game really? The islands are HUGE. No other game comes close to the size. Btw, you cant spend hours over water trying to find land, you would run out of fuel.
Spears 0 Posted November 15, 2001 i agree with barret because the islands are to smal i mean they take little time to get to one side then the other so either get some new ones or do sumthin
Oversoul 0 Posted November 15, 2001 Well I strongly disagree with this one. In order to implement bombers of sweeping campaigns of epic scale, the play space has to be increased. That's all there is too it. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Quote: from Dawdler on 2:26 pm on Nov. 14, 2001 Larger? Cucuma 0 Posted December 12, 2001 Make a map called Archapelago and have a cluster of 10 to 12 small islands and they could have wars on them (it would be good for CTF)
sgtvor 0 Posted December 13, 2001 I'd have to say that the island sizes are fine, if not almost too big. If you've all played multiplayer, it seems that some of the best, most intense games end up being played on the smaller scale missions. Look at CTF missions....in general, the farther between flags, the less likely it is you'll ever see an opposing player. If there's more than about 1 or two kilometers between flags....you just spend the whole time running, and you're chances of hitting resistance is REALLY small. Granted, when I someday find a game server where there's 100 players per side, I'd be HAPPY to endorse huge maps. At the moment, with 32 players total (which is still rare), anything that's too large is really just a hike in the woods. You might run into the occasional enemy vehicle in the first 5 minutes of the game, but unless there's a HUGE stockpile of them at each base (which again sucks away performance) they don't last long either. I'm only focusing on multiplayer because while single player is good, any future add-ons by BIS are going to be geared towards enhancing multiplayer. After all, it's the MP that keeps a game like this alive. I'd have to say my all time favorite map is the bunkerfight series....no where else will you find so much lead flying :-) SgtVor (aka Mr. Dorf)
