Scripting question

Hi all,

I am looking at doing a script for mortars to launch into a base lets say every 10 minutes at random areas. My question is if this is possible or has it been done? If it has been done would you be so kind as to share it? Full credit of the script will remain yours.

Use the search tool. To get you going I'll say there are plenty of ways to do this, but your 3 most logical are...

1. Using AI controlled mortar to fire on position at given time/intervals, only negative here is that the accuracy is 100% most of the time.

2. Use virtual artillery, which simulates the firing of artillery and then does an actual explosion at the designated location. Basically drops the mortar from the sky, not fire it from the ground.

3. Have markers placed and every 10 minutes a trigger drop a mortar on the markers, staggered or not.

I suggest option 1. Just use the search tool, its definitely there somewhere.

Here's two examples.

This one is super simple, it just spawns rounds in a random area of the marker. Based on code from someone a few days ago. Download.

This one is more complex, it relies on actual mortars with crew and an observer unit to speed up firinging. It includes the 'falling mortar' sound. Download.
