ak22 10 Posted August 10, 2011 Hello everyone I have been playing ArmA 2 free on-line I enjoyed the game apart form the random Team killing and people who can't fly planes/helicopters and not even trying the missions. I am thinking of purchasing ArmA II, would the full game contain more servers/players (hopefully less noobs) Also should I buy ArmA II or ArmA II: OA ? Thank you Ak
ryguy 10 Posted August 10, 2011 I would get Combined ops if I were you, it includes Arrowhead as well as Arma 2. Obviously, with any free-to-play game you're going to get less serious players, so yes, there will be less shi**ing around if you buy the game. Especially if you join a clan. metalcraze 290 Posted August 10, 2011 ArmA is a different beast when it comes to MP as you've yet to find out Get combined ops and then there are 2 options for you if you want really good MP experience in the game (you will hardly find it on public servers, whatever you experienced right now pales in comparison with a properly organized game) - an open (but password protected) clan server - usually average-to-good experience (as people just come and go and anyone can command - that includes people who aren't really good in leading roles but at the same time you are really free to play as whoever you wish) - a closed clan server (joining the clan is often a requirement) - usually good-to-great experience. But if you just want to come, run around and shoot - well yeah there are more public servers - but the gameplay won't get any better.

metalcraze 290 Posted August 10, 2011 Depends on what you want. If you are not afraid to install some mods (it's pretty easy with six-updater) then you can try unitedoperations.net which is very populated (easily up to 80 people on weekend and 50 on weekdays). Play mostly coop but have team vs. team games too once in a while. Go to their web-site of the same name - it has all info you need. I think it's an US East Coast server though, but I had a good enough ping to them regardless. As alternatives you can also try 6thsense.eu (use very much the same mods as UO.net) and, if you want more focused game like 'spec ops' with less people instead of large operations then ciahome.net may be a good idea. Netherlands and Norway based respectively. Yes you will have to install mods but it's actually a good thing as they make the game much better (like ACE mod which many servers use) and of course add new islands to play at.
