xman1 10 Posted August 7, 2011 Any tips on installing it? All this DLC is getting confusing. I have ArmA 2, ArmA 2 OA, and ArmA 2 British Armed Forces already. Can it run side by side with British Armed Forces? Or do I need to load up each individually depending on which I am playing? I assume I can make a startup that will do both by calling both mods in the command line. Maybe in the future, just pack more of this stuff in game instead of making all this DLC. I know, execs look at it as extra revenue, but I look at it as a half released product. I can handle one large DLC, but a bunch of smaller ones get annoying. I assume install, then install the PMC patch and I am golden. I guess I will find out. -X ---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:17 PM ---------- Update: Using the following it looks like both are loading from a single command line: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe" -mod=BAF -mod=PMC -nosplash -cpucount=4 -exThreads=
[frl]myke 14 Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) -mod=BAF -mod=PMC Big no-no: -mod=BAF;PMC Meh, clicked too fast on "send reply"...Combined Ops is recommended for online play (which is in fact ArmA 2 and the Operation Arrowhead Expansion), BAF and PMC you'll have a light version even without buiyng it. Light means, reduced texture, model and sound quality for this content (other content is not affected) but it allows buyers of the DLC's to play with those who didn't bought it. xman1 10 Posted August 8, 2011 So you are saying to change it to -mod=BAF;PMC?
Zipper5 74 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) No, if you're patched to the latest version (1.59) the game automatically loads DLCs and the patch itself will update both BAF and PMC to the latest versions. You do not need the mod parameters in your shortcuts anymore. Just launch the game and play. 1.59 is for OA only, so you will also want to install the 1.10 patch for ARMA 2. In this case, all you will need in your target line is: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe" -nosplash -cpucount=4 -exThreads=7 Also, Myke - while it's not exactly the most organized way to do shortcut parameters, having multiple mod parameters will do exactly the same as having them all under the same parameter. There are no negative effects with using multiple mod parameters aside from running out of target line space. Edited August 8, 2011 by Zipper5
xman1 10 Posted August 8, 2011 Good to know! I just noticed that my icons on my desktop that the game put there used -mod= and it came that way from BIS. -X
