ViperTheSamurai 10 Posted July 22, 2011 Ok forgive me if this has been asked before, but i searched and didn't see it. This maybe a stupid question but bear with me. I've had ArmA 2 for a while now and i've convinced my friend to get it. I ordered mine off of Amazon so it's a disc copy, not a steam download. If he downloads it on steam will i still be able to play with him even though my copy isn't from steam?
kylania 568 Posted July 22, 2011 Sure can. Just make sure you're both using the same game though, meaning if you have ArmA2 and he has only Arrowhead you won't see the same servers. If you both have ArmA2 or both Arrowhead (or hopefully you both have both) and run the same game you'll be fine. Welcome both of you to the Armaverse! :)
-)rStrangelove 0 Posted July 22, 2011 If you install steam and add ArmA2 as a non-steam game you can start ArmA2 via steam and then you guys can use the steam ingame chat as well. Other friends on steam can see you're playing ArmA2 and can join your server.

I added it to steam and when i started it, all it said i was playing was "non-steam game" But if you both are right then i have no worries lol, thanks a bunch!
