Arma 2 Free, Question about proformance

im running cpu:955be Gpu:ati 5770 Ram:2gb. how can i get more then just 30 frames per sec. i was able to get 50-60 when i put everything low and went into windowed view but thats not what im really looking for

lower AA, put terrain detail to lowest, lower your post processing and disable vsync.

before you blow all that money on a gpu try to find out if you're cpu or gpu limited.

A decent way of doing this is running gpu-z and the task manager in the background and alt-tabbing to see what's heavily loaded.

If one of your cpu cores regularly goes over 80% you're probably (also) cpu limited.

I run at 2000 viewdistance low model and low terrain detail but shadows high (loads up gpu only) 1920x1200 with 115% 3d res and normal aa, still looks nice imo. I have 2 gtx260's in sli so maybe you'll need to cut back on the resolution and aa a bit. I

the viewdistance slider has a massive impact on performance, aa is pretty heavy as well since they implemented atoc aa.

usually i run on 1920x1200 1920x1200 texture detail: high AF:Disabled AA:disabled Terrian:normal object:high Shadow:disabled PP:Disbaled AP radio 16:10

just run the benchmark Bm1:54 Bm:18

hey i just ran benchmarkone in windowed cpu usage went to 60
