Do you want to be in a realistically structured unit that are the utmost professional? Are you looking for realism in game but not all the screaming and saluting? Well the 3rd Battalion - 75th Ranger Regiment is just that! The 3rd Battalion - 75th Ranger Regiment is a ArmA 2 CO realism unit based around the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. It was founded by a mix of gamers, former, current, and future military players with a extensive amount of experience in ArmA, realism units, and the military. We use a wide variety of tactics including Conventional and Unconventional warfare tactics to complete our tasks. We use U.S. Army ranks, tactics, SOP's, and customs to recreate the ultimate special operations realism experience. Training and Selection Training is a large part of any realism unit, as it is with ours. All recruits will first complete BCT/AIT/ABN/RASP. Upon completion recruits will be inducted into the unit, Recruits now Rangers within the 75thRR will attend a wide variety of trainings, drills, and exercises to get the up to par with other members. All trainings are the same ensuring that all unit members are on the same level and have the same understanding and knowledge of the content. Training includes Land Navigation, MOUT/CQB, Airborne operations, Ambush, Small squad tactics and more. Operations Our unit revolves around and constantly prepares for bi-weekly missions or "Operations". Operations are large organized missions that follow a set storyline in which the unit will follow. Operations can range from counter insurgency ops in takistan to conventional warfare operations in Chernarus to raids in the Tora Bora mountains. Objectives will be within special operations spectrum such as Direct action, Counter insurgency, Hostage rescue, Raids, Airfield Seizure etc. OPORD's will be posted 2 weeks in advance and unit members will work with command staff and have a say in mission planning, and execution. Structure, MOS, and Roles We are based and structured around a Ranger battalion within the 75th Ranger Regiment. We simulate a realistic command structure from the company level all the way down the fire team level. MOS List (Open): 11B Infantry 68W Combat Medic 153A Aviation Non-Specific Roles (Open): Fire Team Leader - Have your decisions directly influence the battlefield, by leading a team of some the most elite members withing the SOF community. Radio Telephone Operator - Use the dynamic ACRE mod to communicate and send radio traffic up the chain of command, as well as to CAS and other ground elements. Rifleman - Be the tip of the spear, take point and use your rifle to inflict maximum damage on the enemy. Automatic Rifleman - Use the M249 and M240 machine guns to suppress and dominate enemy formations, use your weapon to set up defenses and support positions to devastate the battlefield. Designated Marksman - Use mid to long range weapons such as the M110 to give your team maximum range and effectiveness in any situation. Aviation We also have a 160th SOAR detachment to provide the unit with rotary wing transport and Close Air support. The 160th fields multiple air frames such as the AH-6, MH-6, MH-47, MH-60L and more. Pilots in the 160th also pilot AH-64 Apaches and can fly AF A10C's if the mission calls for it, we understand it's not realistic but we don't feel the need to have multiple aviation detachments to fill a common role. Mods and Addons The 75th Ranger Regiment uses a wide variety of mods and addons to further the realism and game play experience. We use updated versions of ACE, ACRE, Zeus AI, and our own addon pack.
