Brandhor 11 Posted May 20, 2011 hi, when I preview a mission in the editor, the sqf/sqs script get locked and I can't save it anymore till I close arma, so if want to do some changes I have to restart arma each time which is quite a waste of time Is there a way to release the script without shutting down the game? demonized 20 Posted May 20, 2011 i open/close, save/load scripts x amount of times while editing with no issues. I use arma edit, but that should not matter.
.kju 3245 Posted May 20, 2011 Which text/code editor do you use?
Brandhor 11 Posted May 20, 2011 I use notepad++, this is pretty much what I've done created a new mission with the editor and I saved it I've switched to intro, created a unit and I've added this exec "myscript.sqs" created the sqs script in the mission folder reloaded the mission from the editor and clicked preview returned back to the editor from now on I can't save the script without closing arma, I'll try with another editor to see if it's a notepad++ issue
.kju 3245 Posted May 20, 2011 Make sure to have the script file not as active tab in the editor. If you do, opening and closing the file should help too.
Brandhor 11 Posted May 20, 2011 thanks for the help, the issue was that I was running arma on the desktop and editing the script from the laptop and for some unknown reason the file results locked over the network, everything works fine if I edit it from the desktop
