ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead crash to desktop during multiplayer start up

Recommended Posts

Whenever I try to connect to a server or start my own, I can choose my slot, but once the game tries to actually start, I crash to desktop. I saw the post to email certain files to get tech help but can't find those files with a search.

I have arma 2 1.09 and OA 1.59

Asus G53JW laptop

core i7 q740 CPU

12 gig RAM

Geforce GTX 460M driver 8.17.12.7061

Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1

Not sure what other info I can offer. Thanks.

EDIT: Arma 2 actually crashes in single player as well. Sorry about that, so any time the game engine tries to start up, it crashes. Thanks.

Update... so I tried "RESUMING" a save I had in the first boot camp mission and it loaded, but if I try to load anything new (single player, multiplayer), I get a crash to desktop.

Only thing I've changed since I first booted up Arma 2 on my laptop are my graphics driver and added RAM (went from 4 gig to 12 gig). I used MSCONFIG to force the RAM back down to 4 gig but same results (resume worked, anything new didn't).

Rolled my graphics driver back to version 8.17.12.6776. My card has 1.5 gig of RAM.

Thanks.

I've got the files, not sure where to upload them on the wiki. Never worked with a wiki before. Thanks.

For what it's worth, reinstalling ArmA 2 completely solved whatever the issue is but I was never able to pinpoint the cause.

glad to here awdougherty :)

the log shows some pbos of a2 were corrupted.

steam has a feature check the files. verify file cache or sth along the lines.

it is recommended to run every once in a while; and especially after patching
