cybrid 0 Posted May 19, 2002 How does a beginner like myself learn to start editing? I've completed the torturial and have downloaded the scripting referance. My problem is that I don't know what to do with the triggers and the basic formats of the scripts. And why the hell do you need an enemy detecting trigger? It seems like there is endless combanations of possible scripts.
SFG 1 Posted May 19, 2002 go to Ofp Editing Center and start reading. Check the forums and code snippets. Also the tutorials.
Aculaud 0 Posted May 19, 2002 Yeah, SFG's got it. I'll also add that this forum right here is a great reference. Just look back through all the pages and what you'll find is just a lot of simple functions people have learned how to do over time. A good mission is just a symptom of someone who knows a lot of little functions with the editer.
Grendelman 0 Posted May 19, 2002 What I do is, I start creating a mission, and if I don't know how I should do something I want in the mission, I'll post it on this forum. You always get replies.
scario 0 Posted May 19, 2002 Just read the Editor-help on the cd (In the Manual, click Editor) and then you will know all the basics. The Swedish PC-gamer had a very good tutorial for the OFP-editor, wasnt that in the English or American version? Yeah yeah, i have said it before, and iam saying it again, everything is at ofpeditingcenter.com
