Setting an Ambush, Making specific units fire and get destroyed.

Hey all, essentially the set up is thusly.

Making a mission with the inv44 mod, trying to get a column of Shermans to move down a road until the lead vehicle is engaged by a hidden Anti tank gun and then making the whole column stop.

I've got a work around solution but its not perfect, at the moment I've got the tanks in two seperate groups, the lead vehicle which is to be destroyed is in its own group and the other 4 are in another group going behind it. I've got the waypoints set up so that only the lead vehicle goes into the Paks field of view.

But I'm not happy with this, the way the AI works you can never get such things exact and about 1 in 10 times one of the vehicles goes to far or the pak doesen't notice the lead vehicle.

I could of course have the AT gun set on hold fire and just use a trigger to set the leadvehicles damage to 1.0 when it enters the zone but that doesen't feel particularly realistic.

So essentially I'm asking is there a way to make the pak only fire on the lead vehicle, and also (because I think having the tank crew bail out and mill about looks stupid) kill the ENTIRE tank and the crew as soon as it takes one hit. Cheers.

Also is there a way generally to fire a trigger either when a specific unit fires OR a specific unit takes damage? Cheers.

Hi,

To make the shots more reliable you can use dotarget and dofire.

If you want something to trigger when a unit fires or takes damage use the eventhandlers described in the biki.
