sharpcut 10 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) well I've heard that in previous retail dvd versions of combined operations there was no ARMA2Patch_1_06.exe on the dvd. But since I bought combined operations three days ago at bestbuy it may be the latest dvd version. (ARMA2Patch_1_06.exe is on the dvd) It installs 1.06 patch automatically when doing a fresh install of the game....so trying to run it after a fresh install is useless and doesn't work since it is installed by defeault. I don't know if this might be the problem and if the 1.57 patch is made to be launched on a 1.05 version of the game?? ps: I think that Arrowhead automatically updates Arma2 to 1.06 if necessary CORRECTION: I just did a 100000th reinstall and it is arrowhead that puts ARMA2Patch_1_06.exe on the root folder in case ArmA2 wasn't at 1.06 yet (still a fresh install of arma2 gives me version 1.06) ---------- Post added at 08:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:13 PM ---------- I just did a fresh re-install and applied 1.57 patch after cleaning the registery...no success. When I install Combined Operations(arma2+arma2oa) the version of my arma 2 is 1.06 (I can't have it on 1.05) and the 1.57 patch is made to patch arma2 from 1.05 version....wich prevents me to install the 1.57 patch. Snots 0 Posted March 23, 2011 (edited) Very Important Note for Win7: Installs, Patchs are executed as admin... right click on file to be run and select, "Run As Administrator" Uninstall the DEMO for sure if its loaded and any other ArmA installs. Delete any extra ArmA 2 files left in install location plus here.. drive:/users/your name/documents. A fresh install into drive:/program files/Bohemia Interactive/ArmA 2 (was done at 1st install but any reinstall has to be done thorough in this case) Arma 2 is installed first OA is next and goes into the same Next is 1.57 patch Note from FAQ: I have ARMA 2: Combined Operations, but I only see patches for ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. Do I need to install both? No, you only need to install the patch for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead as it includes the patch for ARMA 2 in it. The patch for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead is the same for ARMA 2: Combined Operations. Also from OA 1.57 patch dev notes This patch includes the BAF 1.02 update and PMC 1.01 update and ARMA 2 1.05to1.08 update and latest BattlEye for both titles. Now that should work and why doesnt it ? :( Is .exe corrupt 1. Corrupt DVD very maybe... Dont know about DVD's ?? but as far as i know you dont need the actual disks you bought to install as BIS only requires a legit key. 2. You might want to check to see if a ticket already exists -or if not, create one for this issue over at DevHeaven.____ Regarding the registry...it will most likely be a waste of time -considering the short amount of time it's been installed. Ram and disk cautiously checked numerous times without any errors. I suspect a particular process to block the patching process, i don't know which one !
