sharpcut 10 Posted March 21, 2011 Ok I own the non-steam DVD version of ArmaII Combined operation but I cannot patch it. I must have unistalled it 6 times now and searched the forrum for hours without success! 1st, I install ArmaII without any problem and the game version is 1.06. 2nd, I install Arrowhead with success and the version is 1.50. 3rd, I launch arrowhead just to be sure that both ArmaII and Arrowhead are listed in the expansion menu (they are and yes both Arma2.exe and Arma2OA.exe are in the same game folder) 4th, I lunch the updater for armaII for versions 1.00 to 1.08, but without success since it says a couple of errors about my arma2.exe and Arma2server.exe (it also cannot install the anti-cheat system I forgot the name) 5th, (on previous experiment I even skiped step 4 and did this step right away with the same result.) I start the updater for arrowhead from 1.50 to 1.57 it almost completly installs but at 99% it says "Error found in ALL\ARMA2OA.EXE" then "Error found in ADDONS\Ca.pbo (00000000!=00000001) Then "Error found in file ARMA2SERVER.EXE" and finally "Error found in file ALL\UNISTALL.EXE" At the end, it cannot create file BEClient.dll for battlEye either. So I'm stuck with this problem wich prevent me to enjoy multiplayer and updating my game. Hope you guys can help me ! My computer specs (if it can help): Windows7 Premium 64bits Intel Core i7 cpu 920 @ 2.67Ghz 8192MB Ram ATI Radeon HD 5870 (DirectX 11) Thanks in advance for the help! :)
.kju 3244 Posted March 21, 2011 a) try to launch arma2 first before you patch b) if it still fails your HDD or RAM might be faulty - use tools to check it
ArmAriffic 10 Posted March 21, 2011 re-download the patch
sharpcut 10 Posted March 21, 2011 I did launch arma2 before patching and both arma2 and armaroa works perfectly with a fresh install. And I downloaded about two times the patch from the official website and about three times from different websites with no luck! Exactly the same result :(
.kju 3244 Posted March 21, 2011 Look into this now: b) if it still fails your HDD or RAM might be faulty - use tools to check it
sharpcut 10 Posted March 21, 2011 well if the game runs smoothly without installing any patch doesn't it mean that my HDD and RAM are allright?
sharpcut 10 Posted March 21, 2011 my pc ha been testing the hdd for about 2h30 now and it's at about 50% completed (should be about 1h30 remaining) and it looks like it has no problem for now. I really do not think that the HDD is the problem since it shows no sing of failure or anything abnormal. I really do not know why I cannot patch this game! (my pc is almost brand new aswell) I must have installed/played and patched about 12 games on this pc without any problems so I doupt my pc is the problem. Hope you guys will be able to help me once the HDD test will be completed :S ---------- Post added at 11:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:10 PM ---------- tes it now done and both my ram and HDD have no problems
Snots 0 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) I take by updater youve been downloading the right patch http://www.arma2.com/index.php?Itemid=20&option=com_rokdownloads&view=folder〈=en ArmA 2 is at bottom and is 1.0 - 1.07 to 1.08 soz.. you did that :) and also as admin i take it and did you delete the .cfg files in.. drive/users/name/my documents/arma 2 ,before a fresh install. I would delete the whole file in your case and any other time its just the .cfg files. Edited March 22, 2011 by Snots
sharpcut 10 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) yes did all that every time I tried :P now I played the arma2 campain. Time to try to path it but this time without arrowhead installed...crossing fingers :S Sorry I wasn't deleting the .cfg files in drive/users/name/my documents/arma 2. I will try that and see if it does the trick! Edited March 22, 2011 by sharpcut
Snots 0 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Hmm surley with ArmA CO you dont need to worry about patching ArmA 2 but yep 1.06... ok check this thread out ... http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1869063 Edited March 22, 2011 by Snots

NoQuarter 0 Posted March 22, 2011 1st, I install ArmaII without any problem and the game version is 1.06.This is a shot in the dark (considering the above^ and the patches readme) but fire up your default ArmA II and double-check the version# (LRC).The reason I ask is because the v1.7 installer includes that standalone ARMA2PATCH_1_06.exe (the previous final version did not -it automatically checked and installed the revision if necessary). Hopefully, you are still at v1.05 and the errors with updating to v1.07/v1.57 is due to v1.06 not being installed, and all you need to do is run that .exe in your root dir. sharpcut 10 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Ok thanks alot NoQuarter I will try this and post screen shots! (if something is failing) And when you say double check the version number (LCR) you mean the version written on the bottom right corner of the menu screen? ---------- Post added at 02:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ---------- Ok so this is the version written(1.06) after a fresh install of ArmA2 WITHOUT installing arrowhead: And this is the root folder after a fresh install of Arma II without installing Arrowhead Edited March 22, 2011 by sharpcut
.kju 3244 Posted March 22, 2011 What dont you just install 1.57? It contains also 1.08. So install a2, oa next in the same folder. run a2 once if you have a sprocket version. Finally install 1.57 and you are done. If you have bought some DLC, install it before 1.57.
sharpcut 10 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) THAT'S the problem....I install Arrowhead in the same folder with success....everything is fine, but I still get the errors when installing 1.57...wich screws arma Arrowhead (can't even launch it) and Arma2 version remains the same. Now I will install Arrowhead in the same folder, post a SS of the folder and then proceed to patch the game with 1.57...and post SS of the errors... ---------- Post added at 11:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 AM ---------- now this is the root folder after a fresh install of arma 2 and arrowhead Edited March 22, 2011 by sharpcut
.kju 3244 Posted March 22, 2011 Well as said before - all your info sound like a problem with HDD or RAM.
sharpcut 10 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Well....still the same thing. the same error occur with arma2server.exe and unistall.exe....other than that there is no error, but I still cannot patch the game. (I do not have any cd at home to test RAM but the HDD is tested and it has no problem) Edit: I just found a way to do a Ram test with a usb key. I will do it in some minutes (setting up the usb key to make it boot at startup) Edited March 22, 2011 by sharpcut
NoQuarter 0 Posted March 22, 2011 Assuming that this is not hardware related, have you given any thought to wiping your registry clean of all things Bohemia Interactive/Bohemia Interactive Studios, and starting over (again) with a clean slate?
sharpcut 10 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Definatly not hardware related : I just tested the RAM....both HDD and RAM are top notch. And NoQuarter what do you mean by getting the registry cleaned?? Because I bought the game three days ago...it had never been installed on my computer before so it couldn't have been any cleaner still it didn't work the first time. But I would gladly give it a try! Do you mean going into "regedit" and deleting both Bohemia interactive and it's contend AND Bohemia interactive studio?
