Chernorous on Arma2 OA Server

hi,

is there a possibility to play Chernorous on a Arma2 OA Server. I personally have Arma2 and Arma2 OA installed. But my Server is official for Arma2 OA only. I can choose Chernorous on the list but then it wont start.

please help me. actually i am uploading my addons to the server. it takes hours. chernorus, buildings and all stuff.

could it work. pls tell me if not, i could stopt this work then :)

Check with your GSP, if they only provide OA servers then I would move host to one that at minimum has Combined Ops and preferably hosts mods that can be added through the Control Panel.

whats GSP? sry i am kind of a newb. they provide only OA, i know that. i am the host and i have CO, so i am copying my addons in Addons fodler from my server. is it a good idea?

GSP = Games Service Provider

If they only provide OA then you will need to upload manually all of the other files to allow you to play with any of the A2 items :(

Unfortunately that will take you a good while.

i am uploading actually my hole Addons Folder it nees about 20 hours. do i need more?

i have an addon folder of my computer installed arma2 + OA, and i have an addon folder in my server.

i copy all files with chernorus in name of course but what else?

and what i do with the files they allready exist?

pls help me, its too comlicated for me!:(

The best thing is to upload the addons folder from Arma2 and put that whole folder (not just the contents) into the Operation Arrowhead folder on your server. When you start the server up it will see that folder and use all the .pbo files inside. You will then have a combined operations server.

Don't mess about with copying pbos into silly places, just do the whole addons folder.

I have installed Arma2 + OA on my PC. The main program (if i can say so) is OA. I mean, all my symbols in my Addons folder are from OA. is that ok?

Now i copy the hole Program Files/Bohem.../ArmA2/AddOns from my PC into

the folder of my Server? Ther isnt at the moment an AddOns folder at that path.

In my Server ther is a folder called Expansion, and in it threr is a AddOns folder. That means after i copied, my server has 2 AddOns folders. but in different paths.

I got it?

I really apologize for my stupidity, but this is the first time i work with a server and i dont want make wrong things.

legaly i don't think you can do that

but if you own both arma2 and oa, you should be able to make a CO ( = combined operations) server, were you should be able to play on chernarus , legaly.

omg i dont want be illegaly. but yes i own both: arma2 and oa. and the guys who gave me the server told me i can upload every map etc. i want.

i did what Techno Terrorist told me. Well i hope i understood him right. Unfortunatlay noone told me if i am doing well now. i am copying my AddOns Folder into my server. If it doesnt work i am at end of my ideas.

Tarlaya, you have done exactly what is needed. If you own the content then you should legally be able to run the server so don't worry about that.

If you need any more help setting it up then PM me and I'll see what I can do.
