I need help w/ upgrades

Recommended Posts

Hello

I got a new computer yesterday and some of it's specs aren't up to where I need them to play this (awesome-looking) game. It will load and play at a decent frame rate when everything is turned down but looks worse than a PS2 game. I have some extra cash and am going to go upgrade it if I can. What would my money be best spent on?

Highlights:

ATI Radeon 4200 integrated graphics.

I was thinking of upgrading to an nvidia 240 gt for $100, 460 gt for $200, and an ATI Radeon 5770 for $200.

AMD athlon II 635 quad core processor.

Also keep in mind that I am somewhat of a Casual gamer, that enjoys immersive experiences when I do play. I don't need top of the line, start fires just to look cool, kind of equipment. I have about 300 dollars to spend and would like to keep as much of it as I can. Also what would I need to do to integrate new components other than taking the shell apart and installing them inside the frame?

I need to know if this processor is at least decent to use or should I upgrade it as well?

It also has 6gb of DDR ram. IDk if I should worry about this or noe.

Please help because I really don't want to have a crap computer!

Read the pinned thread for PC upgrades. But anyway get a GTX 460 if you can, the 6800 series is not worth the money before AMD fixes them drivers.
