Setting east and west to friendly

Recommended Posts

Well, the title just said it all.

I want to set russians and americans to work together in a mission and don't kill eachother.

Is it possible ?

Thanks

Only way,as far as I know, is to group east soldiers with west commander and vice versa.

You could set them as captives, therefore they wont attack each other -

LOL - would like to see them working together

as captives confused.gif

Probably, someone could make some addons

(e.g: eastern soldiers on side west or western on east)

maybe somebody already did.

But the nature of this game is: West vs East, so i don't

think you can go around that fact.

I've never tried it, but can't you just open up the SQM and change the side?

Side=1(West) or 0(East)

It works with civlillians, so it should work with regular troops.

This is what the Unofficial Command Reference says, you should try it:

Command :

Side

Description :

Returns the side of the specified unit.

Syntax :

side unitName

unitName is the name of the unit to check

Returns :

east

west

guer

civ

Example :

?side player == east : player globalchat "Don't shoot ! I am soviet!"

Seems logic, will try that!

I don't want them to be captive I want them to fight together...

Hi,

for those who are interrested, I've tried both methods and both worked.

I found it amazing that grouping a west soldier with an east commander makes them "friendly", but this method made further editing difficult namely with waypoints, teams and such...

The second method worked like a charme, you only need to do it once(I feared that the editor would rewrite the settings each time I save but it didn't) so I went in this direction.

Thank you all for your tips!
