Nic 0 Posted May 9, 2002 Has anyone ever noticed that people alwayse take sweet games and then host them with the dumbest options set... -------------- In Rogue Spear (and games alike) - They play the smallest map with pistols only...how boring, oh yah, two second rounds -------------- In Need For Speed 5 (and games alike)- They turn collision off so your cars cant hit each other...might as well be a time trial and compare scores ------------- In Worms - They start you off with all the weapons and the game lasts, oh, about .5 seconds.....sucky! ------------- In Empire Earth (and games alike) - They play with the smallest maps.....a strategy game that should last for hours lasts for like ten minutes. ------------- What is wrong with all the gamers out there. No one likes strategy anymore. Just mindless gameplay that lasts for seconds. Over and over again. And if you play a game like rogue spear, you try to have some strategy and snipe out or something, they will make fun of you and call you a "camper". What a bunch of dorks!! Pretty much all i do these days with OFP is make my ow single missions because i like them to be as slow and methodical and tactical as i can stand it. I love playing special forces missions and just taking hours to get even the first objective completed. I think it makes it a lot more fun. See, one thing iv realised about games like OFP and, as you mentioned, Rogue spear: They have the potential to be the most tactically proficient, most slow, strategic and methodical games out there, but no one is ever willing to play like that, because we've all been raised on games like quake and duke nukem and half-life. In these situations, you just gotta hold true to how you want to play, and try hosting your own games. Thats what i did back when i was really into rogue spear, and it worked. Every time i joined someone elses game, it was on the most closed off, close quarters map there was and everyone used the PDW, cause it had the quickest sights, and a high rate of fire. It was like they were trying to turn it into unreal or something. I hosted my own games and made the bastards die slowly with either my sniper rifle of choice, or my M14 (Very fond memories of that gun *sigh*). Anyway, you just gotta keep the faith and find others of your kind, which i know is hard, but thats really all you can do aside from hosting your own games. advocatexxx 0 Posted May 9, 2002 Yup. When I play Flashpoint I usually name my room "Experienced/VeteranMode/RogerWilco only". I wait for up to an hour before I get the 6 people I want to finally launch it. 90% of those who enter don't know what Roger Wilco is in the first place. I'm the group leader and I issue commands. The guy who chooses to be the AT guy better know how to aim that thing at moving tanks 300 meters away, because I don't need another moron behind that launcher. Same goes for missions where you have to fly a chopper. In most Flashpoint games I've joined everyone rushes towards the chopper because they want to fly it. Uhhhh lala, look at me, I'm the pilot. Most pathetic part is that most of the time they can't even land the damn thing. Once we took off and the pilot asked "What now ?" That's why I only prefer to play with mature, dedicated people with Roger Wilco, as I have no time to type in the game. BTW, I have started my own little clan, lol. I've begun to put up a site here, though only the section under "1st Platoon" header is working. I'll be sure to personally give long written tests, train the recruits within the game, and have a set of final challenges they'll need to pass in order to be recruited. If you read the Organization page you'll see I've got it figured out, lol. Though I don't plan on officially launching it until Resistance comes out, as it will allow more people to play with less lag. Either way, it's sad, but most people out there are those who just want quick fun. Whenever I see someone enter my game room saying "GOGOGO" I swear I hit that KICK button so fast they don't know what hit them. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Nic 0 Posted May 9, 2002 Finally, some normal gamers that actually have skill and talent! I thought that flashpoint players might understand. The only problem is that i'm on this lan with four other people now, its cool but there is a major firewall over here. It makes it difficult to play a lot of games, like flashpoint. See, my roomates have different work schedules so we can only really play like every other week. I need more than this, but I can never join regular internet games due to the firewall. I guess its given me lots of time to create some pretty cool ofp level though.. And yes, programs like roger wilco make the games ten times at better! I went in with heavy body armour and a .357 D.E. and wasted them all! Its like they have such small patience, that they cant even wait unitl they find an enemy to shoot. Just pathetic! Oh yeah, and one more thing, its like they forgot how to type. Its one thing to shorten words once in a while, you always have the common "lol" or whatever, but some of em just get out of hand. You just cant understand what the hell they're sayin. The lag, it doth suck at the moment. However, when you fix your firewall, and we all get resistance, we shall enjoy a new heaven of gaming as it was meant to be played.
