-=SFLR=-DK 10 Posted December 7, 2010 Ok I’m not new to arma but I’m kind of new to add-on making, I have a small plan/idea to add some more realistic personal equipment in order to create a unique character. Now for the moment it under wraps cause because idk how well it fit in to the ArmA community. Any way what the rule of thumb when adding logos to add-ons, say i wanted to idk pair combat glove from Wiley X and i put the logo on there for detail. Would it be allowed? http://www.patrolstore.com/Wiley-X-Combat-Assault-Gloves-Desert-Tan.html
max power 21 Posted December 8, 2010 http://boingboing.net/2008/03/21/wwii-bomber-trademar.html From reading a bunch of legal crap to justify my existence as an artist (and there was recently a huge thread about issues like this), my take is this: Company trademarks fall under fair use if you are using them for identification purposes. For example: if you make your gloves and are identifying the gloves as a representation of Wiley X gloves (you are not trying to push any affiliation with Wiley X), you can use their trademark. If you are concerned about it, you can put a disclaimer somewhere that you are not affiliated with the Wiley X corperation. As for the community, colt's logo is all over the place. Don't worry about that.
