Impossible to play multiplayer: SCRIPT COMMON\COMMON_INITUNIT.SQF NOT FOUND

Recommended Posts

I get the following bug whenever trying to join a multiplayer game with my STEAM version of ARMA2 +BAF/AO running in combined ops mode.

SCRIPT COMMON\COMMON_INITUNIT.SQF NOT FOUND

Making it impossible to play on any multiplayer server since I am stuck at the "Receiving Data" stage of joining the game... I have tried installing CBA found here http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6231 to no avail.

How do I fix this?

IIRC, that's a warfare script not being executed. What server are you attempting to play on and what mission did you pick?

Any server and any gameplay mode online from CTI to COOP and everything in between.

So, after a hiatus I tried playing ARMA 2 again. the error STILL persists. I STILL can't play multiplayer on ANY server. Re-installing the game did nothing.

Lovely....

If something in the Common folder is borked you either have a faulty product or are installing the game wrong. You say you have the Steam versions of Arma 2, OA and BAF, but you are running them in Combined Operations "mode". Can you explain what that means? Also, have you tried validating the cache of Arma 2 and OA?

It means exactly that. Every time I start up ARMA 2 through Steam I get a popup window with the following options:

Every time I start the game, I have to manually select Launch ARMA 2: Combined Ops for obvious reasons...

Yes. It changed nothing.
