Recommended Posts

hey guys, as my modeler works on a bdu uniform from scratch,,, i was wondering how and if weight automation works and how to use it. Also , is it reliable? ie not too many weighting issues

Well from what I have heard, it doesn't work great, IIRC Cameron McDonald used it for something he was working on and had strange arm animation even though it was on a BIS model (again IIRC). Not too sure how to use it off the top of my head, give me a sec and I'll go turn my main computer on and have a look (on laptop atm).

EDIT: Just had a look at it and i think i was thinking bout copy weights, had a quick go at getting it to do anything but couldnt see to get any weights to apply to the model...

had the same problem. hopefully i can get this figured out before the model is done :)

if it doesnt work well, ok , but I'm sure BI doesn't manually assign selections to most things . there has to be a 'easy' way

Yeah I would have thought so too, half the time when trying the automation thing i get some error in czech which I can't translate very well. Thats doesn't help but I doubt thats my main problem with it lol
