Flaringo 10 Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) *** SOLVED *** Hi guys. I just booted up ArmA 2, got into the game and noticed the menus were extremely blurry. I went into the options to check if I had set the 3D resolution to something lower than my native resolution, but it was set to 1980x1020 as it's always been. So I loaded up a game, looked around me, and something wasn't right. I was surrounded by low-resolution textures. Everywhere! I thought something must be messed up in my settings, so I went back to check. To my surprise, everything was the same as the last time I played. Textures on high etc. (look at the image in this post, if you can see the damn text 'cause it's so blurry). Does anyone know what's happened here? I don't understand. I've checked my video driver settings, but nothing has changed. I don't see how it would effect texture resolutions either. I also noticed -- while playing League of Legends yesterday -- that the images representing my kills and deaths looked extremely blurry, as if they were terribly low res. EDIT2: Just tested Counter-Strike: Source. The problem does not occur there. The only places I've seen it is just now in ArmA2 and 3 or so icons in League of Legends (the textures seemed fine) EDIT: Additional information: I use an ATI Radeon 4890 with the latest drivers. I use Windows 7 64bit. I've got the latest version of ArmA 2: OA. I've tried changing the texture resolution in the options, it changed nothing. I've restarted my PC several times today. The problem seems to occur with every image in the game. Be it loading-screens or textures. I also made sure I wasn't using any of the British soldiers or weapons. EDIT3: Disregard EVERYTHING. I just restarted the game and now it seems to be fine. Hahaha! Edited September 5, 2010 by Flaringo
PuFu 4600 Posted September 5, 2010 interface resolution and 3D resolution should be the same at least. if in your game the values are the same, check your ArmA2.cfg or ArmA2OA.cfg under C:\Users\~WINUSER~\Documents\ArmA 2 that your values for Resolution_W=xxxx; Resolution_H=yyyy; equals Render_W=xxxx; Render_H=yyyy;
Marc15yo 0 Posted September 5, 2010 that sounds like CCC. Open up catalyst control center and check what the 3d settings are for the Mipmap. Setting the bar to performance will lower the overall resolution of textures every textures, but setting it closer to quality will display the textures as they are meant to be or as the game settings are set. EDIT: if that didn't work do you have ATI tray tools? sometimes ati tray tools interferes with arma 2 as well
