Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

i have made my own .ogg file but i cant seem to trigger my music file in the mission i have.

This is my setup:

OFPdir\MPmissions\my mission.abel\

in this dir i have:

Music\paint.ogg

description.ext (for respawn)

mission.sqm (the mission of course)

stringtable.csv

In stringtable.csv i have:

class CfgMusic

{

tracks[]={paint};

class paint

{

name = "";

sound[] = {\music\paint.ogg, db+10, 1.0};

};

};

How can i trigger my own music?confused.gif Please help me and you will get free beer! biggrin.gif

I think it should now be seen in the effects menu in a trigger, but you can also play it by playmusic "paint".

Now where's the beer? biggrin.gif

I am trying to add my own sounds ..etc. It appears I need to convert wav files to ogg. I read the page on the OPF Editing site. They say to download Winamps and a converter. Fine. \

BUT

I have downloaded Winamps 2.8 and installed in_vorbis.exe--a plug in for ogg support.

I can't get it to play .ogg files. Winamps 2.8 says it has ogg support.

How do you play ogg files?

When I click on a MP3 or WAV file, winapms opens, and it plays. When I click on a ogg file, nothing happens.

@ BaN5Hee:

The code is correct but it´s gotta be in the description.ext not in the stringtable.csv...

@ Tales_From_Topographic_Oceans:

Hm, dunno, works just fine here (in_vorbis as well as out_vorbis).

I play ogg-files with winamp the same way as wavs or mp3s.

Winamp 2.8 sucks when playing ogg files. I can't get it to play ogg files with ogg plug-in installed.

I said to hell with it and installed Freeamp 2.1 and it plays ogg files just fine without annoying little plug-ins. Freeamp appears to only play ogg and MP3 and not Wav files.

Go here to get it: FREE AMP 2.1

I have downloaded OFP Cool editor from http://ofp.gamezone.cz

fool around with it a bit, it helps a lot (making briefings, adding sounds)

As for making and listening to .OGG files...

i use: dBpowerAMP Music Converter

i forgot where i got it though, i think it was via www.ofpeditingcenter.com

Just remember to keep you're imported music files (in total) less than 10Mb per mission, otherwise, OFP will crash when you try to convert it to SP or MP missions.

No probs with winamp here. Works fine both as ogg-player and encoder. Couldn´t be much easier.
