No i haven't used any of the equipment other than the m16A2 and the standard uniform gear. That is why I don't say one thing is better than another. I do however question the sources of those who do make such ridiculous statements.

The SA80A2 is supposed to be the best rifle compared to the m16, styre and G36. it is much more reliable

yes mike,but remember that they had to recall every SA80 and make mods,at a cost of millions of pounds. they shouldnt have had to do that.

i wont say its not the best because i dont know.

but i dont think it can be all that much better than the steyr,which ive used and think is a fine weapon.

except that it aint very accurate...but thats only due to the fact that it's of 5.56mm calibre and the fact that it's barrel is only 20 inches.

the SA-80 is of the same calibre and is roughly the same length,so it cant be much more accurate.

so like i said,if it is ahead of the steyr,it cant be by much. and correct me if im wrong,but isnt the SA-80 a good bit heavier than most other modern bullpups?

2: im pretty sure that outside of computer games,none of the brits in question actually know anything about the military,and have never handled weapons before.

therefore,they do not know what they are talking about.

well this is acording to the extensive tests that have been carried out by the MOD. i agree that alot of money has been wasted but atleased theve now made it better than any other rifle of it type

I have used an SA80 and LSW and although they are a nice designs and very accurate they are a pain in the arse when they jam. the last time I went on the ranges with one(about 2 months ago) it was pissing down with rain and freezing could and it must have jammed about 5 times per mag!

forgot to say I find the SA80 light but I think it might just be they way it is designed, ie pistol grip but it probable is heavy compared to other rifles

I know it's off topic but I just caught BHD's signature thing. I'm assuming you're aware of the movie in mid January BHD. I can't wait. It's one of the best books I've ever read and from the reviews I've read about screenings of the movie it should represent the actual situation very well.

I'm worried that Jerry Bruckheimer is producing it. He doesn't have a record of historical knowledge in films: In particular - Pearl Harbor. Which was also crap.

However, Ridley Scott is directing, and I happen to like him, and think he was a good choice. Top Gun was the first film of his I saw, and I loved it. (Although, again, not very realistic)

It remains THE best book I have ever read in its depiction of soldiers under fire. I have never been in a firefight myself (despite having been in the Army Ranger Wing for almost 4 years now), but it describes the confusion very well.

My OFP squad, the ARW (armyrangerwing) is dedicated to those 18 who died in the Mog.

Well BHD, every review I've read for BHD the movie has been negative. But, every reason the hollywood reviewers give for not liking it is a reason those who like the book will love the movie.

The most common gripe I've read is that the fighting and action goes on for too long and that the average viewer won't be able to handle it. Apparently it carries on like the final scene in saving private ryan only its 1.5 hours long instead of 30 minutes.

Another gripe is that lack of character development. but as those who have read the book know, there isn't much character development at all.

So despite the bad reviews I am very excited. I'm glad they have decided to stick to the feel of the book and not make it a war movie for hollywood like pearl harbor was. d*amn love stories ruining a perfectly good movie.

My soon to be commissioning all depends on your opinion of soon. I still have some time to go but even when I am commissioned I'll probably be too lazy to change my name.

There are several ways to become a 2nd lt in the U.S army. You can go to the academy in West Point, or you can become part of the ROTC program in most major U.S universities. You can also go to the Officer course, if you fit the requirements and are enlisted/NCO. there are even limited chances of a direct commissioning from enlisted.

Don't quite get what you mean by "AI", but when stripping ANY sniper rifle the first part to be removed must be the Scope.
